IBM Careers in USA
Not very long ago in the early 1990s and late 1980s, if a person says he is a programmer, people presumed he was an IBM programmer. He knows JCL and CICS and DB2. He was working on COBOL and / or such other IBM business programming languages. You knew computers only if you could discuss hierarchical database concepts used in IMS! A fall in the market share for IBM was soon recouped with the introduction of IBM PC. Well those days of monopolistic domination of the computer market by IBM is long over. But then, still the largest market share holder in the market place is still IBM!
Even today, therefore, to chose a career that will find it meandering through the labyrinth of IBM computers and their software is not a bad choice. As a matter of fact, most of the successful software and hardware professional have made this choice as a matter of fact. It is very common to find people choosing to be with IBM for their career graph to rise consistently.
Choosing the right kind of career will depend on your own love of the subject. You should enjoy what you are doing. Therefore, you should try and identify the area of your interest. There are numerous sites on the net that offer you information on what are the different software or hardware careers one can have in the IBM products. Check them out and then choose the one that is the best suited for you.
