Milo: New Virtual Human from Microsoft

Folks from Microsoft aren’t standing still and they are working hard on new improvements and devices. As you surely know, company like Microsoft isn’t limited only on operating systems and computers. Microsoft is also working hard on gaming platforms and we’re positive that you know everything about Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles that came from Microsoft. Both of those consoles have achieved huge success and both of them were sold in millions of copies. Although Xbox and Xbox 360 were amazing consoles, they weren’t different from anything that we’ve seen on the market already. Microsoft has acknowledged that and now they are working hard on something new and revolutionary.

As you know, motion control is highly popular nowadays and Microsoft is working hard on its new motion controller called Kinect. Kinect will be revolutionary controller because it will allow us to finally experience virtual intelligence at its best. As you might know, Microsoft is also working on Milo. Milo is a virtual human that will be able to talk to you using Kinect so you’ll feel like you’re talking to a real live person and not just to a program. Milo has its unique face expressions and reactions, and thanks to the Kinect motion sensors and microphones he’ll be able to recognize you and your voice. Person behind Milo is Peter Molyneux from Lionhead Studios that is responsible for development of artificial.

Intelligence in video games. Peter Molyneux says that Milo will be able to recognize you completely after fifty minutes with him and that he’ll even call you by your name. Interesting thing is that there won’t be two same Milos that act in a same way for two different persons because each Milo develops and acts like a unique person depending on your relationship with him. Interesting thing about Milo is that all Milos will be connected via cloud and all of them will be able to learn from each other.

Milo looks great so far and feels like a real person and we have to admit that Microsoft and Peter Molyneux are doing an amazing job. We’re hoping to see final results about Milo soon enough.
