Kept firms are a different animal and are hired by a company for a particular period and original fee. They’re remunerated as a consultant whether they fill a position or not. If they do fill a position they’re then remunerated an additional fee along the lines of the recruiting agency. Kept search firms act more as an employee of the constitution.

The reason companies continue firms is for those hard to find positions that need to be occupied that take time and money. The search firm needs some original capital to fill these more specialized positions. Kept firms are generally seeing to fill positions that has salaries of $125,000 a year to millions of dollars.

Whatsoever type of recruitment firm you do choose to work with you must never sign any type of exclusive agreement with them. You should similarly never remunerate for a recruiter. That had better be coming from the prospective employer.
